Hmmm. From a guy's point of view here. Different things, in my experience anyway. Beads we pull in and out during sex, a plug is left in. Plug has girth which feels great when cumming. Muscles contract around it and wiggle it about and it feels great. Beads pushed in and pulled out, you get that delicious feeling of you expanding and contracting sharply.
If the question is, which one, (which it is!), we prefer plug. You put it in, get on with business elsewhere, and when you cum, contracting around it feels great. Also, if you like the in/out feeling of beads then you can just pull out the plug in and out.

This is good advice. However, if you're a new to anal play, perhaps try one of the smaller ones first to see whether you want to progress. Some of the medium ones can be quite girthy for someone who hasn't done it much. If you're not new to it, then definitely go for a medium one.

Personally i prefer plugs as you can leave them in during sex. My first was the LH basics but i quickly found this to be too small and it kept popping out.
