, in 2013 I was in a similar position to you. I was working so the local authority offered me a choice between a fridge/cooker/washing machine, I chose the cooker. It was only my youngest son and me. If I wasn’t working I’d have my flat furnished and carpeted and all white goods. I still haven’t got everything I’d like but I have everything I need. Your local housing authority should be able to help you with places that can help you. You could Google start up grant and see if you qualify for it. There are places out there, you will get through this
