For us, we normally just pop a towel/papers underneath and use a condom, then it's pretty much mess free. Dispose of both, small amount of cleaning left to do
If you dont want the hassle of having sex in the shower or using a sponge, just simply have sex in the dark. then before you turn the lights on wipe his penis with a baby wipe and yourself, try positions that mean your not lying down as usuallly this leaves a mess. i have much experience with having sex on my period the key is to just tell your hubby that your on but am still up for it that way everyone is happy!
