I know that we can simply wash our toys using soap and whater but I am an hygien freak and I need to sanitize my sex toys at least once before using it for the first time.
I don't know anything about cleaner. I own one and is contains alcool and I think that I have read somewhere that this can be bad some materials. So I am looking to buy a new one ( also because I'm about to run out of this one), so do you have any suggestion of cleaners or any information about what ingredients are good or bad?
I was considering the pjur one but I see that it contrains silicone. Could that dammage a silicone toy or even any other material other than glass or metal? I don't want to dammage any toys, especially the more expensive ones.
I also use the Lovehoney cleaner like Scorpius. Actually did not know that some cleaners could contain silicone. I guess I have to be better att reading what cleaners contain :)
mamz, you might find the following interesting: (REMOVED BY MODERATOR ) (scroll down a bit to come to the difference between sanitizing, disinfecting and sterilizing). A short excerpt: "Sanitising is what you do when you wash something with soap and water. This removes surface debris and microbes. Donât worry too much about so-called âantibacterialâ soaps here, as all soaps are antibacterial in that when combined with hot water, they help remove bacteria from surfaces."
Based on this post (and Dangerouslily's - she has a guide for cleaning sex toys by material: http://dangerouslilly.com/sex-toy-reviews/sex-toy-care-and-maintenance/) I still haven't found any use for sex toy cleaner...
As for the pjur sex toy cleaner: I'd ask Lovehoney whether that's not a typo - or rather, a line left over from the lube description. I've never come across as silicone as a cleaning agent... (doesn't it have a bad reputation as causing lube stains that are difficult to get rid off?)
