If there’s something you want to try but haven’t been selected for, if it’s on the website you could order it and checkout with a credit card, or something like Paypal Pay in 3 or Klarna? Sure, you won’t get it for free, but it still makes repayments easier and you get the toy you want to review. And if you don’t like it, you can return it under Lovehoney’s 100 day pleasure guarantee.
Just an idea as I applied to review the Lovehoney calendar for my blog but sadly wasn’t picked. However, I ordered one instead with monthly repayment installments through Klarna
Hi @Lovehoney_Brenna how do you know you have been selected to test out products to review. Do you inform us first or do the products just arrive?
Thanks.
A suggestion for secret/toy testers when it’s a potential upcoming product: it would be nice to know its rough price/worth as I believe to me, that can affect how I’d review a toy
say something is performing quite poorly.. but you know it IS going to be a cheap starter toy (for me) it would review better than if I thought it was going to be priced higher
And same for the opposite way, it something is performing ok to well but you’d know it IS going to be expensive it would effect my views on it
I see how this could go both ways as the price could and would effect our reviews but it’s something I often wonder about when reviewing the unknown
Very good feedback and considerations. Definetly see how this could change the way a review is written. My wife and I are looking forward to potentially getting the opportunity to review some fresh products. We still have to increase our initial review portfolio to potentially get looked at.
Hey Testers, I have a very quick question related to deadlines for reviews. Does the deadline timer start ticking when the item is dispatched, or is it when it arrives in the post to you?
The longer deadlines it’s not so much of an issue but the shorter ones it starts to be a bit more important.
From the FAQs, the deadline is from the dispatch date.
I had one tester that never arrived, I contacted Brenna and it was found it had been “lost” by Evri. Another tester was dispatched and the deadline date amended to reflect this.
If there are issues with delays in postage, contact Brenna. She’s very understanding if there are legitimate reasons why a review needs to be late.
@JonsterMonster if you want @Lovehoney_Brenna specifically to check your reviews you need to pop a request in to the Check your reviews? thread. However, Brenna is very busy and only gets a chance to go through these sporadically.
In the mean time, if you’d like current testers to have a look and give you feedback on your reviews or what you might be missing, you can pop a request (with an example or two) in Reviewing Reviews and myself, and I’m sure others, would be happy to help.
I know you do mention ASAP when selected for testers, but it would be great if the deadline could be included aswell in the email especially if the Tester post has already been deleted from here
Unfortunately the email is auto-generated so cannot be adapted for different deadlines. However, you should still be able to view the forum posts from your comment history, as they are only hidden rather than deleted
