The answer to Who was the first British Concorde test pilot?
I was curious to see if they named him as Brian Trubshaw or his full name of Ernest Brian Trubshaw. I worked with someone who worked on the concorde project and knew Brian Trubshaw well .

I have popped the answers in. :slightly_smiling_face::+1:

Barring any marking snafus I declare the winner this week to be…

@Ace12345 :trophy::confetti_ball::champagne:

And @Serpentwand gets a special :cherries: reward as it was his first time. :slightly_smiling_face:

I have given a whole point to anyone that said Star Trek: The Next Generation for Pink 5. The question makes no sense if the answer is really Voyager, as no-one is bald. :slightly_smiling_face:

I’ve just had a google and it seems he was an Ernest, but has ‘Brian Trubshaw’ on his gravestone. :+1:

Congratulations @Ace12345!! Very well deserved :clap:t2::clap:t2::clap:t2::clap:t2:
And if I do say so myself I am absolutely chuffed at second place :smirk:

I never got the story of why he went by Brian and not Ernest.

I’ve done a bit of Googling… basically of it’s time it was a bad question! Star Trek Voyager has won the Emmy but the star is clearly not bald, The Next Generation did not win the Emmy.

However, it may just be that it was a premonition of the future question (admittedly with the wrong answer!) as recently, Star Trek Picard has won it!

Nice work. :+1: I was upset the question setters didn’t know basic Star Trek. It made me feel very much like Shaka, when the walls fell.

It’s weirdly common for people historically to basically ditch their 1st name. Queen Victoria’s 1st name was originally Alexandrina before she basically scrubbed it from the records

Close Up Picture Quiz 🧐

Okay folks… I have posted a picture quiz here.

Basically, what are the house hold objects pictured in close ups? Exact answers are required for numbers 2, 4, 6 and 8. Generic answers for the others (… though maybe a bonus point for a non generic answer to 10!)

The photos appear a little off the side on my phone but if you click on them you see the full picture if you need it… you probably won’t.

I have stolen @Ian_Chimp 's intro and end so hopefully all answers submitted will be here :crossed_fingers:. Answers tomorrow.

Hope you like.

I don’t think it’s just royalty, lots of people do/have done it. We’ve given our kids unusual first names and traditional middle names so they can choose later if they think we’ve been pricks. :slightly_smiling_face:
