Is there a right and wrong type of lube when using sex toys? There's silicone based and water based, but which doesn't dry out? Which is best to use with latex sex toys?
There's a toy I'm thinking of getting on the site and it contains latex but I have no idea what kind of lube would be best for it - water based or silicone based. I don't want any that gets sticky or starts to dry after 5 minutes.

Water based should be safe to use. I'm sure there are pleny of topics on things like this if you use the search forum.

Although you haven't said if you are male or female those lubes should work fine.
I think its oil based lubes you should avoid.
i always like to use waterbased lube with my toys (to be honest i only ever use waterbased lubes full stop)
id also suggest that you read the item info as this sometimes you what kind of lube you should or shouldnt use with it.
at the mo im loving the liqued silk lube, which is waterbased and last forever without any stickyness

i'm with diamonds on this one liquid silk is the da bomb it proves the age old proverb a little goes a long way .... somehow the more you work it the more lubrication ya get
Silicone lube is longer lasting since it doesnt evaporate like water based, but silicone isnt recommended for use with toys. Especially not silicone toys as the lube and the toy will likely react with each other and melt. There's also the possibility that it'll happen with condoms too if you're using them. I'm not sure about latex, but personally I'd be on the safe side and use water based lube. I've not had much trouble with water based lube drying up when using it with toys. Even so, I wouldnt want to risk ruining my lovely toys for the sake of a slightly longer lasting lube!

as condoms are made out of latex and u can only use waterbased lubes with condoms the same should be with latex toys?
i agree with ecksive, i wouldnt want to ruin my new toys for some longer lasting lube, id rather just add a bit more from my bottle of water based lube as its not really gonna be to much trouble

Definitely recommend Liquid Silk all the way :) Only lube i've found that isn't sticky when it dries. Leaves almost no mess.
And to be honest, residue when drying is commonly an issue with silicone lubes anyway, water based ones sound like they're just right for the job here :)
