Valentine day plans?

I should actually get my butt in gear and make plans.... OR maybne I will wait and see if the OH mentions it and plans alone . hmm !

Maybe I'm just old fashioned think the guy should plan Valentine's Day.

The girls and I have booked cocktails and fancy dinner for Valentine's night :D

+1 to this

I think I'll be lucky to get more than a card this year. He doesn't like it, or any other celebration as he thinks it's all commercial, which I guess it is. I was hoping he would take me out for dinner over our anniversary weekend but got nothing, so I'm sure Valentines will be even more of a flop. With things how they are between us, I don't really want to organise something as I doubt he will appriciate it and it be a waste of time/money on my part.

Hope everyone who has plans enjoys themselves you lucky devils!

Yes I do agree it has all become commercial do try and make Valentine not about being along the commercial route. Hope you do have a good valentines sugarbobies2223.

Well I *may* have just put in another order (4th order in 3wks, think I need an intervention!) containing this massager

So I think once the kids are in bed, it'll be a nice home cooked meal, hot bath and a massage, and see where that leads 😍😏

And Paige - seeing Deadpool sounds like the perfect night to me! 😁

Haha oh mysteron- being the romance back into things!

Yes we will likely have dinner after I think :) Though last time we went to the movies we ate too many snacks and couldn't eat dinner- oops...

OOO that sounds like a marvellous idea!

OH is out of the country visiting family till end of February (a 6 week trip booked long before we met) so I have been dreading the valentines day marketing that will be pouring through London making me miss him more and feel lonely.

A girls night sounds like the perfect solution! Thank you :)

We don't really celebrate it, I love her all year round so one day to show it isn't necessary. Each to their own though :)

As me and the girlfriend are both students were are lacking on fucds to do anything truely wild and romatice, Idealy i would like a romtice weekend away in a villa somewhere.

but as we are both big marvel fans amd pizza lovers out valintines date will be going to watch deadpool and having a meal in pizza hut which imo ist student romance at its finest :)

we will probally end up getting a shared dessert on the end, sort of a "date night" tradition now I guess, although Im going to try and get a dozen roses as a suprice for when she gets home.

Does everyone believe that they are loved more on Valentines day then? Why is it such an issue to make a big deal of it?

It is waaayyyyyy too commercialised...I no longer celebrate it as I was widowed on a valentines day..at first I thought 'well bloody hell, could you have picked a more inconvenient day?' But now I don't mind. I don't celebrate it out of respect..I don't sit in misery either but, after lots of years of trying order flowers to send to his family to put on the grave and discovering that I could only order romantic ones around that date or expensive ones or that delivery was extra when it's usually free, I now see it for the commercial venture it is. I order a beautiful bouquet in January for normal price and have it delivered a few days before and then watch how everyone runs around like headless chickens arranging 'special' nights that they'll pay through the nose for because it must mean that their love is stronger if they do it on valentines day πŸ˜†

And the best bit is that my hubby will be looking down (or up, possibly!) and laughing with me 😊

I think you can get some bargains if you do shop around. Our 4 course meal at our fav resaraunt is Β£50.00 for the pair of us and we know it wil be good. Of course the flower shops will rake it in as its one of their big earners. However supermarket flowers are more value for money.

Valentines day is just something to look forward to when your are in the gloomy dark damp days of January . For us its a sign that things are getting better and nearer to spring .

Absolutely! , I am such a romantic, I used to love it and I have loads of cards that I've kept and will treasure but I think having seen valentines day from such a different and unique perspective I can now see I'd rather my partner bought me chocolates/flowers because he wanted to or felt like it or took me out for that lovely Β£50 meal just because he wanted us to have a 'lets cheer up its so gloomy in winter' on January 28th and not just because he feels obliged to because its V day πŸ˜† between that and the commercialism I just mean I see it in a different light, I don't mean to begrudge others a lovely day I should add 😊

Everyone have fun whatever they decide to do!!! πŸ˜†

I'm working til midnight but I plan on wearing stockings to work under my uniform and sending a few cheeky pics to oh so he'll b ready and waiting for me when I get in ;)
We are going for a meal on the Friday night tho..We don't 'do' Valentines it's just a date night x

I'm sure i heard a while back there was a valentines day sale like the Christmas day sale. Does anyone know if that is right? If so will try and save some pennies x
