What do you do for a living?

The thread about banned acts in pornography got me thinking... a lot of the time, regulations like these are the result of a general ignorance regarding the kind of people who enjoy kink. There's a misconception that we are all seedy, "underworld" types, when the truth is we come from all walks of life. So, on that theme - what do the people of the LH Forums do in their day to day life? Do you have a job? Do you study? Are you a SAHP?

To answer my own question - I work full time for a bank (boo, I know, I'm the devil). I am a business advisor, which is a bit of a vague title. It basically means I give advice to, and maintain the accounts of, people who are self-employed.

I truly, truly despise my job, and I want to make a career change into healhcare. I'm currently studying a degree in Health Science with Open University, and I hope to use that degree as an entry qualification to medical school.

I'm not too sure what I do! Lol just kidding. I talk to you all on live chat, phones and of course on here!

Day to day i'm normally shopping, out at a restaurant with my partner or playing video games :) I just finished my degree and i'm in a state of 'i'm never going to study again' currently!

Sadly I no longer work due to chronic health problems. Some days I'm totally bed bound, I rely on a wheelchair when out shopping, my social life consists of sitting at bars in swingers clubs, or chilling in jacuzzis, which is where my sex life happens!!

Having just looked up the definition, I guess I'm a SAHP, which in a way, you could argue is similar to a NEET. All three of my kids are in high/comprehensive school, but the current jobs market doesn't really cater for a middle-aged underachiever with practically zero qualifications or experience.

I had wanted to make something of myself as a graphic artist, specialising in the manga style of art, but varying factors - not excluding, although not limited to, my poor motivation - put paid to that.

So, if I wanted to define myself with a professional title, I guess it would be 'Parent/Underachiever'.

I had to look up the definition of a NEET, magic, so I guess we both learned something from each other today. :P

I a English teacher.

You just LOLed my morning, DOTE; thanks for that! @CutieCurious; only too happy to make life more confusing! ^^

I just graduated from college after many long years. However, I've been working as a freelance photographer and journalist in the meantime, and have my own line of handmade polymer clay jewelry (even had the naughty "18+ collection" including boobies, vulvas and willies). The busy season is starting so I got to prepare for several craft fairs :)

I'm a graphic designer, but as I trained many years ago (pre-computer graphics) these days I'm often referred to as a 'designosaur'! :-)

I am a medical scientist specialising in infectious disease diagnosis and my OH is doing a Phd in pure mathematics.

Studying the 'Knowledge of London'

hopefully only another 2 years to go!

I'm glad I came here this morning; so much cheer! 'Designosaur'.... love it! I'm old enough to remember the pre-computer days of illustrating and the initial culture shock of using a graphics tablet for the first time.

Would love to get my hands on a Wacom tablet, but I'm not sure I'd get its moneys' worth from it these days. 😢

Ooh fun! As you know I work for wonderful Lovehoney, but my main role is writing the words of the website! The general stuff I do day to day include moderating the forum, writing the product descriptions you see around the website, the Model of the Month and Review of the Month blogs as well as the 'inbetweeny' words on the site. I also look after and schedule posts for our Bettie Page Facebook and Twitter and our YouTube channel. Oh and sometimes I help Cazz with sending review bits and pieces, alongside writing other bits of copy here and there.

Thank you Cutie for starting this thread I work in a school and I totaly agree with your comment about other peoples missconseptions hense why anominity is essential. I was very concerned about another forum member who also works in a school and showed her face in her profile.

Was a delivery driver but now my health is against me a stay at home dad

I got as far as being a student before health problems pretty much cancelled my life. Now I'm a stay at home mum, hoping in the future I can be something more but somehow doubt it.

I do various things most people would probably consider immensely boring; proofreading, helping to prepare (mostly academic) books for publishing, working as an assistant in one department at the uni, studying for yet another degree, doing a bit of translating/interpreting, and tutoring of some high school/university students when they need a bit of help. Exciting, isn't it? ![](upload://h7LJ67OOrR57VDYrj5ZEwwHAfLG.gif)

I work part time building bikes and fixing them. The rest of the time I'm looking after my kids, cleaning and cooking for everyone lol

I'm a nursing auxiliary.

Sometimes i love it, sometimes i hate it!

I'm a nanny studying to work specifically with children who have dyslexia and dyspraxia....

I want my own practice one day however i fear that when i have babies they may take over and consume my life
