Oh position is everything! Seriously it all depends on what sensation you are looking for. The rectum naturally curves towards the back, hence many beginners anal positions are with body bent and knees tucked into towards the chest. So if you are looking for deeper penetration have the dildo pointing upwards. However many men enjoy their prostate played with which is only about 4cm into the rectum and towards the front. So if that is your pleasure point turn the dildo the other way and only penetrate a small way in. It is relatively easy to Google a diagram of a bloke's insides if you want a better visual idea. Lube is an absolute must with anal play, I'd recomend using your fingers & anal toys first to explore what the two of you enjoy. We bought the g-spot strap-on and always have the bend pointing down towards my prostate, so during doggy or spooning it points down and for missionary or cowboy its pointing forward to my prostate! This was the first kit i brought and we had good use of it for a few months until we upgraded! IMO it's perfect size for beginners and we still use it sometimes. Like others have said it varies a bit but mainly use it pointing whichever way the prostate is, so down for doggy and up for missionary. Works every time
