There's much more experienced people on here than me, but to give my own simple advice - don't build it up, don't worry about it. It's just a different type of fun to explore.
It doesn't have to hurt if it's done carefully (I avoid saying "done right" because it doesn't take experience, just caring about your partner's experience)
If you have a shower first and have had a poo fairly recently you'll be fine - no need to worry.
Take it slow, build up on foreplay, then lots of lube, a finger, a toy, his cock....basically just take it slow and enjoy it. Use it as an additition rather than focussing too much on it as "we are having anal tonight".
You'll probably find you enjoy it and it's no where near as scary as you expected
As scarab9 says, providing you start doing anal when you need to go there should be no problem. You know your own bowel habits. If you go every morning then you should be safe on an evening.
You can douche or enema wash several hours before hand if you are worried. The only exceptions to this may be if you have something like IBS and are prone to loose stools or diarrhea because it is very difficult to get completely clean.
If you are comfortable and trust each other then ot wouldn't be a problem, and he will need to accept if he wants to stick it up your bum he might he find a bit of poo in there. It would be highly unlikely that you would have a big poo. If there is a little bit of poo it's not the end of the world, just have some wipes handy and make sure you clean up before doing anything else!

Whats the difference between normal lube and anal lube?? Im definatley going to take the advice of not planning, just do what we do and if i get in the mood for him to play with my bum then we'll take it from there. We always have lube and condoms around anyway so will just go with the flow. I think im definatley going to try a butt plug first.

Hi I would agree with all the advice above, the only thing I would add is that is a good idea to spend some time on your own exploring yourself, find out what you enjoy and get used to that kind of penetration.
