Does anyone know ......

Can i insure my toy box, sad as it is i have added up and calculated the contents worth of my ever growing toy collection on its own as in toys & equierment not lubes ect bare in mind I have not brought all these the currently grand total over £1200 and over £300 in sexy underwear. This box is worth more than my jewellery box up imagine having a house fire and the insurance guy turning up saying what was in here well I have a list tee hee .

why wouldnt it be covered under normal contents?

Its only (normaly) single items over £1500 you have to declare.

You have your LH account to prove you have bought stuff if they ask for proof

I'm sure you could as they are valuable, I really hope nothing like that happens, yet at the same time I'd really love to see the insurance persons face.

I wouldnt care about the clothes I want my TOYS it just made me wonder today as I need a bigger box tee hee

I really don't see why you couldn't.

i would have thought that it would be covered under contents insurance be interesting to find out if it is :)

My box is the biggest one that LH sends out, and its falling apart :'(

if your normal house insurance wont cover it there are specialist insurance companies out there that will insure any and everything

It should be covered under normal contents insurance, if any item greater than the single item disclosure , normally about £1500 then it would have to be notified (one heck of a toy!!).

There is nothing an insurance firm hasn't seen or been notified about, normally it would be the claimant failing to disclose for whatever reason (embarrassment normally), yes a list would be asked for.

If nothing else the loss adjuster would get excited! But if you ever had to claim i imagine there would be a degree of discussion involved.

hahah I just thought it very funny and amused me slightly that my biggest and most expensive items in my house is my toy box

I actually know a girl that had her toy box stolen and reported it to the insurance. It was a locked box much like a professional vanity case. They just took it locked as they most likely assumed it was full of expensive make up and the like. I imagine they got a hell of a shock when they broke it open!!!

Anyway the insurance company sent her a couple of forms and asked for any photos or receipts of/for things that were stollen. she sent them all off. they didn't send anyone out and just sent her amazon vouchers for the stuff she lost. shame she couldnt ask for LH vouchers ;)

she did say the police woman's face was a picture when she listed that they'd taken her xbox, wii, GHD straightners, laptop and box of sex toys :') knowing her she'd have said it with a perfectly straight face too!

Requirements differ in my experience. I now only need to itemise anything over £500 as an individual value. But then I am in rented accommodation. Lock your doors and make sure all cigarettes are properly extinguished! As others have said, you Lovehoney account will show your purchaces but I would love to see the expression on the insurance person when you submit a claim for a toy

Kinkyfuckery will you please send your insurance company an email asking them and post the reply on here. I want to see how they react to it lol. I can just imagine some poor wee geek sitting at his desk going through the usual
Boring claims and up pops your email.... (Complete with photos of item) and he atarta to go all res and embarassed. he wont know the answer so he then asks a colleague. mext thing 20 people will be standing around his desk staring at thw toys lol X x
