If you are going to do this you need to be very aware of the potential issues. Thrombosed veins and blocked lymph vessels can be caused by a ring that you would thing would be loose enough not to be an issue so you need to know what to look for.
I believe the official advice is to avoid long term wear.
However, if you go with a body safe material that isn't too tight then you might be ok. Just be mindful of what's happening with your old chap.
You're not really supposed to do it for more than 30 minutes. I can't figure out what you'd be doing that's worth the risk either.
Lots of threads on this is you search, hard rings don't constrict when you are soft (if the right size) so are not an issue for long term wear.
My husband has some soft silicone ones that he will wear for a few hours and likes them. If we ar having a kinky night out he will wear one and I'll wear some love eggs which is great fun, mostly becasuse we know and nobody else does.
