Fantasy careers

What would be your fantasy career?

I'd quite like to be a sex toy designer. I have a few ideas which I think might work, but which I haven't seen explored on the market so far.

I wonder whether I might make a good sex therapist / counsellor. I think I have the necessary listening / empathy skills and I'd certainly find it rewarding to help people.

Failing those, I'll settle for being an astronaut, as long as I can do it on a day shift so that I can be with my wife in the evenings and at night.

What would you do?

hmmm... My fantasy career? Near Eastern scholar - archaeologist/assyrologist. Considering I am currently doing degree on that area I can? hope it will come true.

Barrister.

im at the end of my law BA, so we shall see after theese exams if i can get onto a postgraduate scheme in the next five years or so

Not sure what job I'd want.

Something without any stress, but was helping people. Something where I had to take responsibility but had back-up from management.

Something fulfilling and where you didn't deal with angry tossers and general fuckwits on a daily basis....

Pretty much the opposite of my job now then....

Erm - maybe I'd like to be a translator. I can speak two languages other than English (one more fluently than the other) so I'd like to become fluent in them and I'd like to be able to do BSL, so maybe I'd like to be a translator.

I did fancy the idea of being an adult film star years ago, but not now, I haven't got the body (as they are very muscular) & I haven't got a 10 or 13 inch member.

I have a passion for video games, so selling them or creating them would be my fantasy career.

I would like to be a childrens author i would write a collection about the adventures of a cat.

Did you have a go at this http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/design-a-sex-toy/ :)

I'd love to be a glamour model, but I haven't got the looks nor the body.

Oooh... I hadn't seen that before -- thanks!

Interesting... External Media

Your welcome

Actress... Not a film actress, but on the stage in the RSC or Frantic Assembly.

The fantasy for me at this point is a body that can be relied upon enough to hold down a job.

You've probably picked one of the most stressful jobs right there hehe!

Really difficult to get into - my Aunty speaks Spanish as her first language and has lived in England for 20 years so is fluent in English too. Found it nigh on impossible to become a translator - so much you have to know - she was taking maths, science and technology exams. You have to know so many specialist terms and of course the job itself is stressful because you have to listen and speak in two languages at the same time and getting it right is important.

I'm not trying to put you off of course - if you'd enjoy it then great - but it's definitely not stress free is all so it depends how important that bit is to you :)

Me - I thrive off stress so a job in a laboratory is going to be ideal. My dream would be to run a department some day for job stability (which you don't often get in science).

Ha - thanks Ad, consider myself duly put off.

To be honest I'm not in the market for a career change since too many ties to what I'm doing!

My job now is stressful and if I'm honest I too enjoy it most of the time but had a knock-back on one of the cases I'm working on this weekend and combined with some other stuff I've got going on it's sent me into a melt-down!

But, if you grew up speaking multiple languages and learnt the technical aspects as you went along I think it would be easier.... when we have children I intend to speak dual-language to them so Spanish (for example) is as second nature to them as English. And they'll be better at it than me!

I love the job I'm aiming towards in Mental Health. I think it's rewarding and challenging. I love how the mind works and helping people.

I'm quite empathic so I'll be able to use that in that field. Although I love the prospect of high flying jobs like barristers and doctors I don't think I'm suited at all for that kind of stress associated with them.

I would love to do something creative like art and/or writing but I think that's best kept as a hobby as I get burned out pretty quick.

Perhaps a lingerie reviewer or even a food critic will be interesting.. but to be frank, I think I'm very lucky to pursue something that seems almost perfect for me.

Oh, I would like to go that step further into counselling and therapy.

Mine would be anything for an F1 or MotoGP team.... never gonna happen but would be awesome!

Please don't become as shit as the people I have to see for my panic disorder. >_>

Anywho, I have a whole list of things I'd love to do... Including but not limited to;
. Patissiere
. Glamour model (though I don't have the looks for it sadly)
. Teacher of English as a foreign language
. Therapist (In fact, I'd love to be a sex therapist...)
. Writer of pretty much any form (I ADORE writing... Even writing product descriptions for a store like Lh would be great...)
. Games designer

I think I'd most like to model, teach English or become a writer, as I have a passion for beautiful things (but I'm no good at capturing them myself!) and language... =)

Also wouldn't mind a job in politics, just so I can see what really goes on...

I'd also love to model - I think it'd do wonders for my confidence and the OH would love it but I'd have no idea how to get into it.

I'd love to be a burlesque dancer too.

But really I'm lucky that I get the chance to go into the field that's perfect for me! :D

Oh and some day I'd love to own a restaurant/cafe but in reality it's a tough thing to do - if making money weren't an issue I'd do it!

I'll keep that in mind.. >.< Sorry for the bad experience. I think there'll always be people lowering the standards of any job, unfortunately.

Oh, I'd love to be a teacher too. I think being part of a child's life in such a positive way sounds wonderful. Although I know you can have crappy teachers..

And there's something quite mysterious about being an independant journalist.. You know, the people that are actually into finding out the truth and stories that actually matter.

Yes! I love watching Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares it inspires me as well as makes it very clear that it is no easy job. You should try modelling as a hobby/part time. I know everyone here appreciates your pics!

That's one of the reasons I'd love to model! I've always hated my body, ever since I started getting boobs at about 8 years old... Then I had horrible weight fluctuation and a growth spurt and... -breathes-

Just recently I've started to like myself just a bit more, and I think having someone take flattering photos of me and knowing that they wanted to do it would really help my confidence =)
I just don't have the body for it though, sadly. I'm not very toned or busty or tall, and have a long body and stubby legs.

There are loads of sites where you can upload a portfolio though, and photographers can find you!

... And, my family run a small restaurant =)
It's seriously difficult... But if you have a lot of money to start out with, it can be made 100x easier.http://www.net-model.com/homepage.asp

Ahh I'd love to - but I'd have no idea where to start!

WandA keeps trying to encourage me to give it a go - I've spent years working on my confidence and I think some professional photos I could keep would just be the icing on the cake but I've no idea what you need to do without spending a fortune to get some done just for us and if I spent a fortune I'd want them on display in my room which isn't practical right now.

In the future I'd like to pay to get some photos done but if I could get into some kind of modelling in the mean time I'd love it!
