Middle age blues

Where do I start ?

Just been sent a funny poem about how a penis ages from standing watching you shave , to stopping to watch you tie your shoes .

It made me laugh , but made me sad .,

It illustratre the sadness of getting old . I look in the mirror , and see some strange old bloke staring back at me . I look at my bald head , them my sagging face , my disgusting pot belly , and finally my shrrivelling penus and sagging balls .

I think of the plc porn mags I sneaked a look at , -while beginning adolescence. The girls in them were early 20s then , so will be in their mid 60s / early 70s now .

When we have sex , it drains me . It takes me a couple of days to "recover ", where it used to take me less than 20 minutes .

I don't want sympathy , I just want a promise from you "youngsters " .

Please promise to make the most of being young . Enjoy and embrace life .

Love each other . Be silly , laugh , and dance like no ones watching .

You will be middle age before yòu know it , so build good memories while you can .

Goodnight, and God bless all of you

Nice!

As a friend of mine always says. Getting older is a luxury some people never get. Happy Sunday all 😘😂

Mrs John your friend is spot on, we must enjoy every new day as you never know when it may be your last. Be grateful for erverything you have and be kind to everyone. Enjoy the day

That's why i enjoy it here, we try to be positive and our ages don't matter! Just saw a government road sign on the way home "Stay Safe, Be Kind" if only everyone adhered to that.

I'm not sure I count as a youngster, but I do try to live along these lines, when my father in law died 4 years ago he made me promise to live life to the fullest, to live with joy and to not sweat the small stuff.

It really stuck with me and did change my philosophy. Losing him really woke me up to how short life is, he was only 60, looked like he was 50 and acted like he was 25! He was a really lovely guy and living my life happily seems like a good way to honour his memory.

He also made me promise not to divorce his son 😂 so far so good!

I don’t know if 31 is classed as a youngster but I’m 31 and my partner is 35 and we’ve discussed this and sex when reach 50’s and both agreed it’s about quality not so much quantity as I know it can slow down for some people. So I don’t worry so much about getting older anymore as it’s part of life and nothing we can do about it.

Sorry if my post seemed negative . I was just over thinking things .

I just get sad when in see what time does to us (watch the "74/75 " video , its on YouTube ) .

Getting older brings benefits. I talk with young women at work , and enjoy their conversation, without my hormones screaming at me . I love women more than I ever did now , because there isn't my lust getting in the way . .

I no longer worry about things , or hold grudges . I count my blessings. I'm healthy , I'm in no pain , and I am , more or less financially stable .

Life's good . Let's live it !

Agree , enjoy what you can while you can ! I had open heart surgery in 62' , broke my back and neck (twice) and shot . I should have died 11 times so far . People often say I always seem happy and I tell them everything after the first time I almost died is the bonus round . I try and stay somewhat in shape ( heart still has a bad valve ) . People often say I look great for a 62' year old , looks can be decieving . I have more wore out and tired body parts than you can shake a stick at . As you age , usually yor eyesight goes . I think this is natures plan so old couples stay together !

Oldman, you may be on to something, i started needing reading glasses about 5 years ago! I am quite lucky (touchwood) at nearly 57 i am quite fit and healthy.![](upload://ez5kOkpKXRZOxjavAURYmQxVTau.gif)

Oldman, you have done remarkably well, sounds like you’ve really been in the wars. Will, you’ve done well too mate. My eyes have always given me problems, but they were in a seriously bad way about four years ago, causing excruciating me pain, I was forced to go private as the NHS wouldn’t fund my treatment, I have a very complicated incurable hereditary condition, & I underwent three laser surgery operations and and at one point I was taking 25 different tablets/drops and gels to combat pain & aid healing, four years later and after many aftercare sessions my vision is about 98%, I still have to put drops in both eyes everyday & put thick paraffin cream in both eyes each night to prevent the pain. It was very expensive but although it can’t be cured, they regularly monitor me.

Sounds awful Knight, i wish you all the best. I had an op on the back of my leg in February requiring 10 stitches, but i am fighting fit, and the scar is hardly noticable as my pics attest.

Cheers Will, I’m glad your leg has healed well.

We are both in our late 60's and 4 years ago my wife was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. Once we got over the initial shock we took a decision to live for the moment as best we could as we do not know how much time we have left together.

If we fancy something we get it, if we want to visit somewhere we go. Our sex lives, though less vigorous, are far more experimental and varied than they have ever been.

My advice would be not to wait for circumstances to kick you into action. Live life to the full now.

As Keith Richards says. "This is not a rehearsal. This is the real thing."

Too true Rockstar! Cheers Knight!

This is spot on ! Don't waste a moment, the years fly by in the blink of an eye. Cherish every day that you're on this earth .

I'll be 57 next week but in my mind I'm still 25 ! ![](upload://ez5kOkpKXRZOxjavAURYmQxVTau.gif)

Early birthday wishes Wildflower, you certainly don't look it! 😘
