Myself and my boyfriend have been together for a year. Neither of us have ever done anal before and want to start by easing ourself in with a toy - nothing too intimidating, something quite slim. What would you guys reccommend?
Would the vibrating sensation be too much for a first time? If I was to buy a vibrating toy then I'd probably use it without vibration initially. Do you think the size of these toys are too much for a first time?
Because I think silicone is the best material for beginners to anal play (it being soft and flexible and also non porus so you can sterilize it properly, particularly important if you intend on sharing toys).
The other silicone ones are only splash proof, not water proof. Personally I wouldn't be comfortable with an anal toy I couldn't submerge in water for a thorough clean.
Which I have, its a but trickier to insert but is very comfortable once its in.

The plug sex squid recommended also looks great for a beginner. I had the Cupid's itty bitty one but I wouldn't recommend it because it likes to pop out (perhaps a little too itty bitty), the LH slim ones look like they'd be a lot better.
I would also recommend a plug over beads for a beginner, mostly because a plug is easier to insert and will give you an idea of whether you enjoy anal stimulation.
Like the one Jezebella linked, there are a few good beginners sized ones for a good price for you to dip your toe in the water with.

I'd definately recommend some nice butt plugs for anal beginners. They aren't too intimidating and once in place they give you a very nice full feeling and can be left in during vaginal sex and pulled out whenever you are ready to give anal a try. Remember plenty of lube too. Having a plug in for a while will really ease you in to full anal sex too, makes it so much more enjoyable x
Some great great advice already given. I'd always recommend lots and lots of good lube and nothing more than gloved fingers to start anal play.
I like to call it anal trading. Just get used to having a finger in your ass . take your time weeks or months. Allowing your ass to get used the sensation of having something in it.
Build up to to finger by learning to relax the sphincters muscles. They are some of the strongest in the human body and if your tense or not relaxed . its far more difficult to insert any thing and will feel very uncomfortable in deed. This is why so many people can't get beyond this point and say it hurts to much. Relaxation is the key.
Once you have 2 fingers in you can start to stretch the sphincter. Stretching it getting used to being opened. Working with your partner to breath and relax to allow a little more girth and depth each time.
Well I guess I must have been very lucky or just subconsciously always wanted anal because I have never had an issue receiving toys or my man. My absolute favourite is my inflatable plug.
I can appreciate though that if your mind is not fully accepting of the act then it is likely that your body could reject it.
