New to shaving

Hi , virgin shaver here 😀
I have took it upon my self to be smooth downstairs for mrs m, I started with elec shaver , but got a couple of nasty nicks on the balls , so went to a wet shave , this left stubble , got some waxing strips got completely covered in wax very sticky very messy , still not smooth , bit like a carry on film , any advice 😘💕

Some salons do intimate waxing for men so removes the waxing difficulty you've had. Some places use different waxes which are better suited to waxing in this area plus it means no missed patches. Eventually waxing means regrowth does become finer so is better than shaving. But depends on how comfortable you are with getting waxing done by somebody else.

If that's not for you a manual razor is best and I think LH stock one designed for shaving in this area. They also have shaving oil which might help. To help deal with stubble, exfoliation helps a lot but gently mind!

I guess it's just a temporary result as there is laser removal but that's a much more long term or permanent removal method and it is pricey.

I have found hair removal cream works really well and although can be a bit messy, may be easier to use than wax and it can be done by yourself. After using the cream, l then put a shaving balm (for sensitive skin) on the area, no rashes, no cuts and regrowth isn't uncomfortable either. Not to identify products, but they can be purchased in the supermarket.

What hair removal cream do you recommend?

Does it rhyme with hair?

For me, I have been using a normal razor for many years, just a 3 blade disposable, shave twice a week and the razor lasts about a month or so. I just shave in the shower with normal body lotion, then rub in some baby oil afterwards to keep the skin moistened. Hardly ever had an issue with ingrowns, rashes etc. once you get the hang of a razor down there, it's pretty straight forward.

Magic powder. Can get it on eBay, just mix with water and apply then remove with a flannel. It's a bit of a pain to mix, but worth it. You don't get the burn as you do with creams like nair. It was designed for afro Caribbean men as their facial hair is thickereally than Caucasian men. Porn stars use it.

I'm with Senator - a carefully wielded 3 blade razor then balm or oil. No issues for me, it's quick and efficient.

Always been a bit wary of removal creams - chemicals around the nether regions doesn't appeal. ![](upload://jokG3WtlbVccWAgGjeuPxY6tITM.gif)

Hey! Iv been shaving mine for years now, it is a bit of a weird procedure when you start and getting in the crab position in the shower is never the most attractive ha. But I just do a wet shave with a used razor and use plenty of shaving gel. I tried shaving foam but that tends to leave a ton of Stubble and also irritates me quite bad. Once you finish just make sure you have one of the little brushes you can get from most supermarkets which stop stubble and ingrown hair, I can't remember for the life of me the actual name of them ha! But you can also get gloves which also exfoliate the area. Also take your time in case you nip your skin and don't use any rusty razors or use a razor if it's been left in water too long as this can give you septicaemia which happened to a friend of mine.

If you choose to razor shave again, I highly recommend these https://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=19031 espcially the oil.

My husband uses hot wax on himself, just where he wants my tongue to go ! you don't have to go mad and he only needs to do it once a month and it gets easier the more you do it as the hairs just stop growing. Gigi wax works for us buy online

I just use a mach 3 razor and do a dry shave every few weeks to keep it trimmed.

Thankyou folks , some good advice there , will have a good read up
Cheers
😘💕

Didn't know the history of it, but I can recommend this too, wished LH sold it. We use the Aloe vera one.

I wet shave with a Hydro Power 5 blade razor every 3 days....simples

Me and my OH use sensitive veet hair removal cream. Does leave the areas smooth

Magic Powder does the trick but I accidentally got some downstairs while washing the cream off my bikini line and even that brief contact irritated me badly for the rest of the day - so be careful with it!

My tips...soak in a nice warm bath, use a Hydro 5 razor(Never disposables as they are crap) use a non-foaming gel such as King Of Shaves Sensitive.I find that letting some water out of the bath when you are ready to shave,so that the water is just below your balls as you lie down. This gives you the ability to stretch and manouever your scrotum, penis etc to get a smooth, nick free shave.

Normal razor and shaving gel. You'll know when you've got it smooth.

If this next bit ain't allowed, apologies.

Be careful with some hair removal creams. https://www.amazon.co.uk/review/R3GDDEL1SC1QQ5 :)

Be very careful using hair removal cream it's very sensitive down below and can course some serious irritation. Go in the bath or shower, warm or hot water opens the paws use your normal shaving foam/gel/oil and shave carefully in a downwards stroke, you will get some irritation if you have never shaved down there before but moistorise after keep doing it on a regular basis and it becomes less and less sensitive, I have been shaving completely all hair for many years and it feels amazing, there is no miracle way to do this you just have to find the best way for you

Same for me - every couple of days in the shower. I shave my face in the shower too, we have a water softener and it's so easy.
