Opinions on the 50 Shades movie?

I just saw it and as someone who loves BDSM and hates the 50 Shades book, I enjoyed it more than I expected to. I didn't find the sex scenes remotely sexy but I got some good laughs from things I think were supposed to be funny (and a couple things that probably weren't supposed to be). I also wish I had a room devoted to BDSM :P

What are your opinions on the movie?

Liked the first book until it got all soppy and lovey then didnt pick up one or two. Quite tame but I think sells will go up for love honey and definitely want my other half to watch it as it might just show him what intensity im after with and move him onto intermediate bdsm and help him be a better dom :)
Im sure it will educate a lot of guys lol x

I really liked the books but the film was somewhat disappointing. Could of been alot better plus I didn't like the choice for christian grey, didn't do it for me lol

I thought the idea was good, with very poor execution, ive never read the books but did expect a bit more. No chemistry between them didn't seems to imitate reality at all. As for the so called sex scenes in sure my oh has faked orgasms better.

I really enjoyed both! I'm going to see the film again on Wednesday when it's a little quieter as people were talking during the first showing I went to (and I just want to see it again)

Yeah, I didn't really like the choice for Grey either. Mostly because there was something about his eyes and how they looked like they were going to absorb my soul or something like that :P

I looked it up on imdb and saw that one of the early on rumored actors for the part of christian was alexsander skarsgaard. For me if he was the lead role i wouldve been first in line to see the film! Had the film been around a few years ago then i easily couldve seen julian mcmahon as christian grey based on his role as christian troy in nip/tuck.

for me either of those guys wouldve made me go and see the film. As the casting is, i honestly have never heard of any of the actors/actresses which might be a good thing because you dont associate them as another character, but for me it means theres no interest. I would rather see cast that ive seen before to entice me to see this film.

My girlfriend wanted to see it but was disappointed. I think it would have been better as a full bloqn comedy

Having glanced at the book, and thought the writing was awful, I went under duress, expecting the film to be utter pants. It wasn't, in fact I quite enjoyed it. I thought the actors did a really good job of making two fairly unlikely characters plausible. Some of the worst lines (I suspect from the book) were just played for laughs. Not particularly erotic... but I don't think that's a bad thing.

I have to say it's 2 hours of my life I'll never get back! The acting was awful and the sex scenes as someone already has said weren't remotely sexy! My OH enjoyed it as she has read the books, but it just was rubbish!

It also doesn't help that throughout the movie when the Middle aged women of the audience (no offence intended) take flash photo pictures and woop (as if they are 5 year olds) everytime Jamie Dornan got his kit off or a sex scene started. It was like this was as close to porn as they had ever got and couldn't quite believe it. It was very annoying!

Haha sorry for the rant, hope everyone else's viewing and experience goes much better :)

Going tonight and I'm so excited lol.
I think it's like marmite. You either love it or hate it.

Some SPOILERS!!! Terrible film! obviously with it being on the big screen it couldn't be too detailed on what they were doing but even so it was still very vanilla to me and cheesy as hell to the point where I found myself rolling my eyes every two seconds at how predictable it was. They are always showing her old worn out car but as soon as he sees her old car next scene hes bought her a new one. The audience annoyed me aswell, several times people burst out laughing at things that were really not funny, a loud, fake sounding, over the top laugh, the way a child would if they heard a naughty word or something. It was slow, boring and at the end when Mr Grey finally gets to do what he wants to her, it's too much and she leaves! Six whips for a sub in a bdsm film and that's too much?

I want my money back, don't waste yours.

I would rather see boobs on page 3 of The Sun!

Im going to wait until its out on dvd and borrow it. My troubles have been mentioned by a couple of people already.

im not a big fan of the cinema anyway, but theres nothing worse than people whooping and cheering at a film. And most of the forced laughter was probably women who were disappointed that the film wasnt that good but are so much in denial that they are trying to look as though they are having the time of their life!

I thought the film was good and how I expected/imagined it to be from reading the books. It could have been a lot more sexy in my opinion but never mind.

P.s I think we were in the same screen! I had ladies takign photos on their phone to with full photo flash on. how annoying ![angry|20x20](upload://auespWY2jeVe46VFziva9nry44n.gif "angry") thats what google is for if you want to see pictures after the show. My rant is now over too.

Seriously, there were people taking pictures of the screen? What a nice way to ruin the movie for the rest of the room!

How rude!

Can the film be compared to anything on tv? Hubby said a bloke at his work went to see it with his gf and he thought it was terrible and said that the sex was absolutely minimal.

I know they cant show sex scenes in a film, but my favourite ever tv show nip/tuck had a lot of sexual content in it, and so does true blood (my second fav show!) is fsog kind of like that or is it tamer?

Im in two minds about seeing it because i didnt manage the whole book so i dont think i would appreciate it as i havent read it. If theres not much sex but its implied sex, that might rely on you knowing whats happening from the book? So maybe not ideal.

It doesn't follow the book too closely.

So I wouldn't worry about not reading the whole book before going to see it x

Ok thats good to know! I heard somewhere that in france this film was only rated as a 12! Does that mean that there isnt much sex in it? From what ive heard from people i know, all the women seem crazy about how good it was but all the men are saying it was boring and nothing much happened.
