I'm sure I'm just worrying too much as shorts really are a new thing to me.... unless I think back to sports in high school and even then I worn trousers when I could.

I picked a high waist as I'm going to slowly build up my confidence.
When putting them on I didn't realise that there was a little zip as well External Media
I rather like them so far as I can roll them down if I wanted to, unlike some I looked at the other day where they are sewn into place.
Those are really nice, shame they're sold out in all but a size 6 or I'd get some! High waisted shorts feel much more secure and those aren't obscenely short by a long shot :) Are you wearing them with tights to start with? Personally I feel much less self conscious in short shorts with opaque tights and boots.
yeah when I ordered them they only had 3 sizes, the 6 would of been way too small, but there was a 16 too which would of been too big, so was stuck if the pair I ordered didn't fit really.
I don't tend to wear tights so am wearing them with stockings. Tend to find that tights are rather uncomfortable, also it's hard to get the right size as i have long legs.
I went for this look last Saturday afternoon (after readingthis thread) when I auditioned it in my bedroom with a view to going out in it that night. In the end I bottled it, due mainly to a cool breeze. But with a favourable forecast I think I might give it a go this Saturday.

I bought a chemise and shorts set from Primark/Asda/Matalans.. One of them. They have some pretty good value cotton nightwear sets.
The shorts work perfectly with some laced hold ups and a long sheer loose top.. It was colour co-ordinated too. The shorts were really short-shorts and sort of checkered patterned black and white. The top was white sheer and hold ups were black laced.
I absolutely loved this look and have taken pictures for my partner. I have quite wide thighs but having some skin showing between the shorts and hold ups emphasises the leanness in the poses etc.
Bought the hold ups from Asda. Very good plus size range there. Not had any luck with Lh. >.<
