Me and the Lovely Mrs City have started to get into some anal play for me.
Lubrication aside (which have found to be essential, lol not that it ever wasnt going to be) the only other discomfort i have found is her fingernails - they are quite long and i can "feel" them in an unpleasent sense - (my own fingernails are short i.e there is none as i clip them meticulousy; as someone who goes climbing i dont want them getting caught and ripped off) i can feel not the point at the end but the edges, this is distincly different as opposed to mine whereby i dont notice that sensation at all.
Now my suggestion of cut them off was met with laughter and "youre lucky i was being gentle".... oh what a evil grin she had on her face.
Is this someting ill get used to over time? Or am i going to be stuck forever with the edgy fingernail feeling?
On the plus side we have found an excellent male and female toy (which sadly not on sale here) which does the job sans nasty nail feeling.
Your tips (boom-tish,) piss-taking and general comments are most appreciated.

Yes latex gloves i have aplenty, although they are usually reserved for when i'm rebuilding the mazda lol. However that and condoms ill give a try too.
Manicure is a good idea, we have a spa day coming up so im sure we can fit that in too, sadly moving house last week has left us both rather rough around the edges haha.

You might want to consider trying nitrile gloves if there's any risk of latex sensitivity for either of you.
Also, it's really important when cutting fingernails to also file them to ensure that all cut edges are as smooth as can be. Fingernails can be quite dangerous around the delicate anal and rectal tissues, so if your wife declines to cut her nails, I really would recommend against using fingers at all.

interesting stuff, ill have a good read later on of the more technical medical bits.
Some sort of glove (Latex not a problem for us and i have a ready supply as mentioned) combined with smoother nails definetly seems the way to go with if continued use of her fingers is going to happen, having said that the toy we have is much more fun and doesn't cause the aforementioned discomfort.

Yeah we use latex gloves for anal play - feels more pleasant for the receiver and is more hygienic for the giver. My OH is lucky as I prefer my nails short! (Can I ask how you chose your name?)
On the latex gloves side of the topic, I remember hearing somewhere, sometime (a good hint that I wasn't at the soberest of points, and likely the person giving me this advice was in a similar state, just to forewarn!) that if your partner has particularly long nails that they're unwilling to cut, they could gently pad the fingertips of the gloves with cotton wool. I'm trying not to laugh at the thought of this too much (best not to mock something until trying it?!), but it could be a possible solution?

How i chose my name - sitting in the office having a break from trading and it was the first thing that came to mind.
Well gloves certainly seem the weapon of choice for everyone, having discussed further with Mrs City we have decided to just use toys for inside and fingers for outside.
