I have penis plugs, a set of Hagar sounds and a couple of my cages have sounds or catheters built in but I’m very careful about what I use as lubricant as I’m wary of UTI infections.

Ive got some Swiss Navy silicone lube in a pump bottle i tend to use with the 35cm long sounds have been ok up to now
I have tried sounding. Whilst I can take a 10mm sound easily when I try the 11mm I simply cannot get it in. I must have a narrowing in my urethra at the base of my glands as I can only get it in so far. I have pushed it passed the narrowing before on a few occasions but it isn’t comfortable.

If uncomfortable its not pleasurable and your body is warning you, over time you’ll probably get further if you want just dont literally push it?
I too am stuck at 10mm. Would love to move forward to bigger and better things!

@goodbrewsguy Have you looked at pratt dilator set, they have a longer and more shallow taper than hegar sounds, they do tend to be just numbered so working out sizing is the main issue.

I have not been sounding too long , but here are my ideas on the subject . Stainless only , silicone and plastics have too much drag . ONLY use sterile lube packs meant for the job . I do not inject lube , but reapply lab and gradually work the sounder deeper . I prefer the ribbed sound because in my mind the ribs help transport the lube down . I personally have no interest in stretching any body part far beyond it’s natural limits fearing damage . It could just be me , I used to be an emergency medical technician .

Your best bet is to score yourself a sterile lubricant such as Optilube, and get it in the single-use sachets to ensure maximum sterility. It is specifically designed for things like catheters, etc. where infections would be … problematic, and as such, it’s appropriate for use with sounding equipment (and no, I’m not referring to your vintage 8-track!).

@Fantasy69 there is a specific sounding lube called “very deep” personally I think it’s expensive for the size of tube you get and for me it’s no better than the LH discovery lube, plus I prefer the fact the LH lube is in a pump bottle so I can pump it directly in to my peehole, I get lube where I want it, makes less mess and I don’t have lube everywhere so I have more control.

I’m new to sounding but encouraged by my wife I bought a small stainless steel probe. She was all for trying it having watched porn and researching the best practices techniques. Lube is a must and starting small helps overcome the fear factor. I started at 6 mm and 150mm long. That soon slipped in and I had to buy bigger. I’m currently up to 10mm,at a push, if you pardon the pun.

You “could” try a silicone sound either hollow or not, they are up to 35cm long and go all the way in, if hollow you have no control what runs out only your wife has the control? Its great she will assist you this way keep it “up” a small plastic syringe helps fill you with lube I use normal fisting lube or silicone lube though not with the flexible ones.
