Even the most open and honest relationship can use some “alone time” occasionally. It’s hard not to be “put out” by it as you say, but sometimes when the mood hits and it’s obviously an inconvenient time for sex (such as, the morning shower before work), it’s just more practical to do that. He may also have just wanted that privacy to really enjoy the alone-time instead of enduring masturbatus-interruptus! Your best bet is to talk about it without judgment, talk about your feelings of low libido and explain how this isn’t because you love him less. And really, if low libido is the case, is it preferable for him to have “alone-time” or to find relief elsewhere? I know which I would prefer, and wouldn’t be put out at all because at least he’s still in the house and not out seeking satisfaction outside the relationship.

Hi there @Softkitty30, whilst the sex is amazing with my partner and we do it 3-4 times per week, we’ve had weeks where it’s not happened at all. From a male perspective, I can offer you comfort in the knowledge that we do enjoy a bit of “alone time” from time to time to supplement the sex rather than replace it.
I can’t speak for your other half, or all men, but I enjoy masturbating to porn from time to time or thinking of a particular pornstar in the shower. It’s also possible he might be doing something that he’s embarrassed of or not comfortable telling you such as popping a finger up his bum as he does it (that’s more common than you think).
Perhaps have a little chat with him and reassure him that you’re not going to judge him or think differently of him if he opens up?
