ladies, can men wear leggings?

I love to see a girl in leggings specially when her panties show through. I have been thinking about getting some for a while now and love the thought of my panties showing too but is that ok for a man? I've worn tights and stockings but never leggings and to be honest don't know that much about them. I would only wear black leggings rather than coloured or patterned nes but could I get away with it in public. Love some advice.

If you want to wear leggings then that is completly up to you! Go for it and enjoy! Leggings are very comfy, well they are for me anyway. They are also very warm and easy to move in, which is why I love them so much. So yes, men can wear leggings. If you are happy with then go for it :)

Firstly anyone should be able to wear anything so yes.

im guessing your question is more along the lines of will you get odd looks and sniggers if you wear them in public?

i would say it depends on your style. I think men who are a bit emo/gothy and wear tight trousers anyway could get away with leggings without anyone having a second look.

If you were wearing the thin see through ones to show off your underwear and were otherwise dressed casually you would get people give you funny looks. Thats just the way it is.

if you are confident enough in yourself that you can brush off any negativity then go for it.

You'll find many people argue it's not ok to see a woman's panties showing through her leggings, public indecency and all that! So don't worry about what people say is ok. Everyone will have an opinion but frankly if you're not hurting anyone why should they care. You see men wearing cycling leggings all the time, no reason why people should look twice at you for it. Go for it! Nothing wrong with a bloke feeling good in what he's wearing! :)

Though I must say, I prefer tights. Way easier to get ones that fit and I actually find them warmer! I'm too tall for most leggings and my lil ankles get freezing :( you might have luck finding some nicely sized ones in a sports shop (male or female section) or one of those shops that specialises in hiking gear, motorcycling gear or ski gear. The ones in high street fashion shops tend to be quite poor quality, very thin material and quite short, though you never know what you'll find!

I've seen the odd man out in leggings & I to be honest, I get slightly jealous as they have crackin' legs!! I say, if you want to go for it! I see them as a thinner version of skinny jeans, there's no difference at all.

I'd like to think though that if more guys wore leggings they'd add extra material at the crouch so no one gets cold down there as they aren't the best clothing for winter! ^_^ There's always contraversy over something fashion wise, no one is ever going to get it right, if you want to, feel comfortable doing so & enjoy it, go for it!

glad you have seen men in leggings and you obviously are ok with it. You have given me confidence to go out and buy some now

YAS! Oh my god some guys look amazing in leggings! And I'm sure you will too! <3

If you want to wear them, then go for it!

The only issues i'd see with them is that they might be a bit restricting on the crotch, so maybe a slightly bigger size to give you a bit more room?

If less people were concerned about other peoples' opinions, then there wouldn't be any stigma attached. I've seen more and more guys wearing them recently, and to be honest, I dont actually think they look bad at all - You can buy 'super skinny' jeans now, and whats the difference apart from the material used to produce them! :)

Here's a website that may help you find ones designed for men that have more room in the crotch area: http://meggingsman.com/

Go for it. Be who you want to be, and screw everyone else's opinion. Who are they to say you can or can't wear something?

Leggings can look really great on guys. It's possible that you may get funny looks - I guess some people are always going to be a bit like that, but you may be lucky. The more people wear things that challenge gender perceptions, hopefully the quicker people will get used to it. My guy has gone out wearing leggings before and that was with dresses or skirts and he really likes how it makes him look but even if people weren't necessarily looking at him he kind of expected to get bad reactions and felt too self-conscious to carry on doing it unfortunately. Not to say that to put you off at all though, everyone is different.

Best of luck with it :)

My husband has worn leggings at times, but only during his workouts back when he used to keep fit.

He said they were comfortable, stopped rubbing and kept certain bits from jumping about lol

I do have to admit, his legs and butt looked amazing in them lol

I hate all these rules about what's considered "men's clothes" and "women's clothes". I say, you can wear whatever you want - if you want to wear leggings, wear leggings, critics be damned!

The only issue I can think of regarding legging is, if they are very tight, you're crotch is likely to be shown in clear detail, so just be aware of that. It's not a male-only issue - When I'm wearing tight leggings, I always make sure my top covers my crotch. I don't want all and sundry getting a detailed look at my parts.

I made a note of this thread when it first posted, thought about it and bought some. I bought some thermal ones in a large size as I am quite tall, I feel and look great in them. I don't think I have had any strange looks and certainly not had any derogatory comments. As CutieCurious posed I do wear a long top / jumper to cover my crotch.

So all I can say is go for it

Im very invloved with an online community called Black Milk, quite like the LH community but dedicated to clothes.

They excel in leggings - is how they became 'internet famous' as you would say. From there - I know quite a few male friends who wear leggings and are proud of it! It's quite wonderful really, if you are comfortable with wearing something why not? No need to be a frown upon it.

Girls & leggings (vs. jeans) are getting quite a bit of critism at the moment too which I think is pretty ridiculous. That being said im stitting here in black leggings lol

Just went to check their site, OMG, leggings are amazing! want to buy one or two. But the shop in in australia? can they deliver here in UK?

Hi to everyone who has replied to my message. You have all given me alot of advice and better still encouragement to be who I am and wear what I like. I have bought some leggings now and have been out in them although only at night so far. I did go in a shop where a girl was serving, I could see her looking but she didn't say anything. Most of you said people will look I guess it is still unusual to see a man in leggings but if the girl in the shop is typical then hopefully I don't have anything to worry about!! One day when I'm feeling brave I will go out somewhere during the day. Thanks again for all your advice and support.

panties-man, you do not have to be brave. I live in a small village and I walk the dogs, use the corner shop and generally just be myself in leggings. To be honest I don't think anyone notices if you act normally.

It think what men wear is completely up to them :)

panties-man, it has been a little while now since you posted this thread how are you getting on ? Have you braved the outside world ?

i certainly have I now wear leggings most of the time, and feel great. I have found a new type of leggings that include a short skirt. This covers the bum and the bulge at the front they look and feel fantastic. i now can see why the ladies have taken to leggings in such a huge way.

I love leggings nice and comfortable, I'm wearing them more and more now I'm pregnant!

Yes go for it wear whatever you want to wear :)
