VHS tapes used to go the same way, you’d be half way through a film when everything stopped and when you tried to retrieve the tape it was a jumbled pile that you had to prise out with a pencil!

I actually recorded all the songs i owned that had backwards masking, took the cassette apart and put it back together so i could hear them the right way round! That’s how i knew Rocket by Def Leppard had the chorus of Gods of War in the instrumental bit! Sad eh? :joy:

Oh that it explains it! I did wonder how you knew that !

Regarding VHS and cassette tapes, the longer the run time, the more likely they were to snag. I think C90’s were the best for run time/reliabilty!

How long did it take to load pacman on your ZX Spectrum?

Blimey never mind how long it took , what about the ear splitting racket the ZX Spectrum used to make as it was loading?

Absolutely. C120s had a lifespan measured in minutes.
In the car do you remember fast forwarding and rewinding to dry the condensation off the cassette heads in the winter?

Mr Blue Sky? I know you love ELO

That’s because the tape itself would stretch when recording, did you have the luxury of SP LP?

@Chosen-one Now Music is on 107 now ( I had to google that)

I used to be primed next to the radio on Sunday evenings, my finger on the record button for the charts and just when I pressed and started recording someone would burst in, start talking and the ruin the whole thing!
