Iām very impressed with @wildflower immediately sharing her poll knowledge. 
It looks like youāve already solved it, but just in case you still had questions -
Some things, like quotes and polls, need to start on a line all by themselves for the forum to recognise the ātagā, and then do its special magic with it. Like so:
Poll question?:
[poll type=regular results=always chartType=bar]
* Yes
* No
[/poll]
(And itāll need the [/poll] to close it off at the end. Sometimes you can accidentally delete bits of code, but you can either wipe it all and start again, or try and type the missing bits back in )
As wildflower said earlier, a lot of it is trial & error, but the edit pencil is your friend. You have at least 24hours to begin with, which ups to 30 days at TL2. It takes a lot of the pressure off compared to the weird, unreliable 5 minute one the old forum had.
(actually, to be super-accurate, I should mention that Polls only have a 5 minute edit window. I imagine itās to stop you asking, āDo you like chocolate?ā Yes/No, and then swopping it to, āHave you ever thought about D&E while you touch yourself?ā after everyone has voted. )

Thanks @Ian_Chimp, finally had a play around to see what I could do and it turns out I couldnāt do much apart from make a mess all over your sandbox thread

Ah, yes. There are a few extra limits if youāre in First Day mode, but fortunately they only last 24 hours. After that you pretty much get full functionality, apart from being able to upload photos (thatās limited to Members, but it only takes a couple of weeks to achieve, so nothing arduous).
The forum has recently had an upgrade so pretty much no one knows how to use it yet. If you want to have a practice of anything you can have a play here in the Sandbox, but the only thing you really need to know is how to read and type.
